Here are my own corrections based on the information I have in my library of

scouting memorabilia.

>Eagle Scout (BSA)
>(1912-present)
1911 actually, as the badge and requirements ARE in the first Scout
Handbook.

>Exploring (BSA)
The Senior program has gone thru a lot of changes. Its best to look at it
this way.

The Senior Scouts program existed from 1935-49. During that time the
Explorer
Scout program existed from 1935-49, and the Air Scout program from 1942-49.
Rover Scouts existed officially from 1936-54, for boys older then 17.
Senior Scouting
included other things like Sea Scouts, Press Clubs, and other things.

In 1949, the whole Senior Scout program changed to Explorers. Explorer
Scouts
became Explorers, Air Scouts became Air Explorers, Sea Scouts became Sea
Explorers.

In 1959, Explorers became Exploring.

And in 1998, Exploring was split with Career Awarness Explorers going to
Learning
for Life, and the rest becoming Venturers.

>Gold Award (19??-1998)

Explorers had the Explorer Achievement Award from the early 80s to early
90s,
when it was replaced by the Explorer GOLD award. (note the word GOLD *IS* to
be
capitilized, as its an acronym). The Explorer GOLD award will STILL exist
for the
LFL/Explorers as I understand.

>Explorer Silver Award
>Rover/Explorer Ranger Award

Rovers had no advancement program, as the members where over 17 and
considered
future adult leader resources. Maybe if they did have an advancement
program they
would have lasted.

The Explorer Scout Ranger Award lasted from 1944-49, then replaced by the
Explorers Silver Award from 1950-58.

>Air Scouts (BSA)

>Air Scout Ace Award (19??- 19??)

Air Scout/Air Explorer Ace Award lasted from 1942-54, at which time Air
Explorers
would earn the Silver Award from 1955-65, but I'm not sure if this was using
the
Ace requirements or the Silver requirements.

>Sea Scouts (BSA)

>Quartermaster (19??- )

Quartermaster Award started in 1925.

Hope this helps
