Signe,
It is good of your general manager to wish to honor his foreign visitors,
but it is essential it be done properly.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD A FOREIGN NATIONAL FLAG BE FLOWN ON THE SAME
POLE AS THE US FLAG! To do so would require placing one flag below the
other which would be a GRAVE insult to the nation whose emblem was so
displayed.
A foreign flag may ONLY be displayed on a separate pole at the SAME HEIGHT
as the US flag. In addition, the flags must be of the SAME SIZE. Within
the US and its jurisdiction, the US flag receives the place of honor on the
pole to the right (your left as you face the building).
Hope this helps and has not arrived too late.
