retest at SM conf

What is the collective wisdom about retesting a boy on RA requirements
at a later SM conference? Or maybe more clearly, is it appropriate to
expect and Eagle candidate (or Star & Life) to demonstrate a tautline,
clove or bowline (don't call it a rescue knot anymore) hitch? or to
explain the Heimlich manuver and "hurry cases"? I have a small group of
3 years 'wunderkind' making Life at 12 to get Eagle to then quit - "My
Mom says I can't quit!" (said with a very nasal, most iritating, whine),
that don't give a hoot about scoutcraft and asking them to teach it is a
waste of time.

I recall my Sensai in karate requiring 3rd degree black belts to
demonstrate white belt patterns during their testing and it seemed
appropriate enough. So, whadya think? Am I being pedantic or just cranky
for being up past midnite Sunday/Monday printing out rank advancement
reports for the Court of Honor packets?

Maybe it's double jeopardy, but if it's signed off then you ought to
know it, so show it.

Oh, and how do we handle old handbooks and new? Carry both or transfer
the sigs and dates over?

Curious but khaki,

YIS
