All,
In light of the fact that our School Night is tomorrow, it was
gratifying to open the Miami Herald this morning to find the main story
in the "Living" section about Scouting.
The article examines South Florida Council's attempts to address the
needs of our diverse populace and makes examples of several successful
programs. Mention is made of the controversies currently challenging our
program nationwide but the author deftly refrains from making any
judgements about "exclusionary practices."
While the on-line version doesn't have the pictures (which are pretty
good) you can all read this story, written by Herald staff writer John
Barry (an Eagle Scout), at http://herald.com/liv_art/living/ . Then
click on the headline to read the full text.
There is good coverage available!
YiS,
Doug Roach
