Write to National -- It really does matter

With the large number of new books, new requirements, even new program
elements (Venturing) which are coming out now and will be coming out in the
near future, we are in that period almost everything works perfectly.
However, things may have been put into the field which don't always work and
possibly even a few mistakes have been made. The national task forces do
their best to think of every thing that can go wrong and can be
misinterpreted, but a 20-30 person task force is one thing, our entire 5
million person movement is something else entirely.
This is where we come in. When you run across errors in a new book, or you
find requirements which are a problem (I think of the thread going on the
Personal Fitness MB), write to National and tell them about it.
It really does matter. I know of cases where changes were made in books and
in requirements because of one letter from a unit leader. Each such letter
which clearly points out a real correctable problem, is very carefully
considered and, if at all possible, the change is made in the next revision
It doesn't need to be a long letter. In fact, I would recommend that one try
to hold tha actual letter to one page with supporting appendices if more
information is needed.
The letter can be sent to the appropriate program division (Cub Scout
Division, Boy Scout Division, Venturing Division, Learning for Life Division)
at the National Office.
