Re: The Honorary President of the B.S.A. - BILL CLINTON

Ed Henderson <biged@SCOUTER.COM> wrote, explaining how our
President is no longer "fit" to serve as Honorary President
of the United States.
First, remember that President Richard Nixon served as Honorary
President up until the time he resigned as President. Afterwards,
he remained as Honorary National Vice-President of the BSA until
his death.
Second, remember that the Honorary President of the BSA is the
President of the United States under NATIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD
action, as the BSA's Charter and Bylaws call for. If
this is to be changed, it must be done by the BSA's National
Executive Board. Removing a Honorary President has NEVER been done,
even in Nixon's time (and remember: his signature appears on a lot
of Eagle Scout cards and certificates too; some of those signatures
have become collector's items!).
Finally, when you start doing something outside of the "established
rules", where do you end?
