Super Glue Success Story

Folks,
Here's the follow up to my earlier post subj: Superglue: You won't believe it!
Just got back from the doctor. He was a little taken back when I told him
of what I'd done but when I took off the bandage and he looked at the
super-glued-on tip of my thumb he said, "Well I'll be d***ed! I couldn't
have stitched it on better myself!" All he did was put some neosporin on
it and rebandaged it. I go back Sunday for him to check it again. May
lose the tip but that's because it is shy on blood supply....but the super
glueing worked great!
He told me that physicians use superglue regularly and that nursing homes
also use it for cracked-chapped hands, etc. He did suggest using the gel
form of superglue rather than the liquid....easier to work with. He also
said that there is virtually no difference in the glue sold to physicians
and that on the hardware store shelf nor is their any real danger in terms
of the chemicals involved. The trick, he said, is to make sure to cleanse
the wound very well (Irrigation with normal saline is best) and to use an
antibotic cream as well.
Now, everyone can make their own decisions regarding it's use and I
certainly am not telling YOU to use it. But I will....certainly in a case
where medical help is not readily available...and in a flash on myself and
my family!
BLUE SKIES!, Any day above ground is a good day!
