I took Aikido classes many years ago, while my son recently took Tang SO
Do. The differences as I observed them and remember them is that Aikido
moves focused on getting your opponent to fall down through his/her own
momentum. We also practiced landing and rolling from attacks. Once the
opponent was down, the object was to immobilize them with wrist hold
etc. My sons classes in Tang So Do, while defensive also taught counter
punches.
