Well, I don't attend many Scouting socials, but most of the long-time
"front line" Scouters that I see in my part of the country serving on
camporee staffs, helping at Roundtables, serving on district and council
committees, volunteering as campmasters, serving as commissioners,
providing service through the Order of the Arrow, and volunteering in
other ways are Wood Badgers. I've been watching these folks "leading by
example" for many years and they certainly don't disappear when work is
to be done.
As to why you should attend Wood Badge training, I'll offer only this,
"It will make you a better leader." It took me almost 20 years to
discover this fact.
