My personal experience is to put things where they fit. Some people will
say to put all the weight at the bottom, some at the top. I personally
feel that you need to expirment and find out where things fit, and if that
is comfortable. When I pack I put the sleeping bag on the bottom, and
cloths and water on the top. I have not yet had a problem with that.
Others will though.
