Bruce,
I don't know anything about your experiences with Wood Badge or Wood
Badgers, but I disagree with your conclusion that Branden's experience
validates what you perceive as an endemic problem. I took Wood Badge in
York-Adams Area Council in 1993 and served on staff for Keystone Area
Council's NE-IV-104 in June. I didn't see this sort of attitude =
displayed
by staffers at either course. I saw exactly the opposite. The staff =
went
out of its way to accomodate the needs of individual participants. As a
staffer, I was given a copy of the staff guide during staff development.
All of us read it and did our best to live up to both the letter and =
spirit
of the staff guide. Our staff even donated money to help pay the course
fees for a participant that lost his job just before the course. =20
I won't dispute that whatever you have observed, but I think it is unfair=
to
tar the entire program.
YIS,
Dave
