No need for the fire suit for you but for as for that advancement chairman,
just have him/her show me in the NATIONAL advancement
guides that you MUST be a professional, have a degree, or hobby to be
"qualified" to be a Merit Badge Counselor.
Here in Southeast Alaska we have small isolated communities, in no road in
or out, travel is by sea or air . Can anyone out there tell me with a
straight face that a scout is out of luck in M.B. advancement because there
isn't anyone in town qualified to sign him on a desired / required M.B.
Remember what the FIRST name of this organization is...That is who WE are
serving not the other way around.
Professionals built the Titanic, volunteers built the Ark.
