Please do understand that you are entitled to your beliefs. You can
even as many protestants do believe that my Anglo and Roman catholic
co-believers and I are hellbound. The issue is not expecting BSA to
accept either your view or mine. I am a devout Anglo-catholic (we do
exist)and as such probably share with you a belief that we should
offer Christ to Moslems. BUT I left that view at home when I had a
devout Moslem in the troop.
In this counsel, we expect troops to accomidate the various religions
of the Scouts and try to make sure that our council camps do. So we
offer a number of services at Summer camp and permit groups not
covered by them to do their own. In the troop I led, we rotated grace
at meals so that all the represented religions had a chance.
That worked for us. Obvioiusly an Orthodox Jewish troop or an LDS
troop would do something else, but for the poligot bunch at troop 14
it worked.
