Hello,
Greetings from Sri Lanka; formerly known, among other names,as
Ceylon and Serendib (whence serendipity !).
I was an active Wolf Cub and a Boy Scout during schooldays; a
Wolf Cub at Royal Primary School, Colombo and a Boy Scout at
Royal College, Colombo (in the 1950s).
Among other nostalgic memories of that period was being the first
(joint) awardee in this country (then Ceylon) of the Leaping Wolf
badge. I still am the proud possessor of the book "Boy Scouts" by
E.E.Reynolds presented to me on 10 October 1950 by Silvertip
Akela Captain Vernon W. Halpe as a memento. (The "joint" status
arose from the last test being in semaphore; my co-winner is now
a doctor in the U.S.)
