JOTI

(EC92@AOL.COM)
Tue, 18 Aug 1998 14:28:45 -0400

This activity is popular because so many of us ar able to do it, unlike the
limited (and licensed) few that are able to sponsor JOTA activities.

My Explorer Post does communications and our chartering organizationS include
Business Technology Group in Atlanta and TCI. We are currently working on
setting up a JOTA/JOTI program for the weekend of the event and if we are
successful we would probably be the best opportunity the people here have of
providing a clearing house where those who wish to participate in JOTIcould
register their address or ICQ or whatever and others could work from that
listing.

If such a regitration process would appeal to everyone - remember, it would
require a form to be completed and sent back to our Post to make sure we had
Scouters and Explorers and not "extra" people (yup, you'll have to provide
some details on said form), and all registrants would get one list e-mailed to
them of the participants at a certain date.

If those interested would respond privately, I can evaluate if there is a
need, and if there is we can put the form on our Post's website for all of you
to complete and get back to us. I'll probably be a little delayed while I
consult my legal people (HEY! SOMEONE WHO'S A LAWYER! WRITE A "WE DID OUR BEST
BUT YOU"RE ON YOUR OWN WHEN YOU USE THIS LIST" PHRASE WE COULD USE - boy,
easiest appointment I ever got with a lawyer) and design a form that tells us
enough to check membership in BSA if necessary and get it on the site.

We can announce the URL once we have an idea of whether this is needed.
