Re: How Do You Define "Show Improvement"?

The question was:

"How do you define "show improvement"?

I define it every other day...by doing one more pushup over the day
before, and by one more situp; and by running the "track" (the
roads around the house) twenty-two seconds faster than the previous
day.

I'm trying to get my body back into some sort of shape for our
upcoming physical fitness test, the first one using a new set of
standards for physical fitness. For a old goat like me (I used to
be able to max the 2 mile run with 14:40 and better times when I
was MUCH, MUCH younger!!), getting around the block in under 19
minutes has been a challenge...but I'm getting there.

I've been told that exercising would also help me "beat the heat"
as I get ready to go overseas (if they can ever get all of the
approvals and orders and everything...it's "hurry up and wait it
out").

Your Tenderfoot Scouts should be encouraged to improve themselves
by any small degree over the previous period. If they better their
score, even by the smallest degree, they have "shown improvement".

Hope this helps out!
