I agree with Bob, Made a lot of sense until this point. If I subscribed to
the "medicated to fit in" argument presented, I would have never been able
to get my Troop restarted after a little over a year being dropped. Of the
12 Scouts that chartered in July 1993, 8 were on some form of medication;
most was Ritalin(sp?) some were respiratory.

I wasn't on medication as a child, but I wasn't "perfect"(!) then neither
anyway ;-). I found other ways to drive people - uh, "crazy".
But, now I am on several meds. Thanks to 20 years in the Army, jumping out
of airplanes for over 18 years, two operations for bone problems, and the
Persian Gulf War, I too, must take medication to "fit" (? right word?) and
continue to participate. If not, I would be in constant (tears producing)
pain, unable to walk very far, have skin rashes in several places, and a
nose that just will not cooperate.
Of course, none of that matters. We are here for the SCOUTS - safe haven
and all, and we probably will have to use OUR BRAINS (as no one else wants
to use 'em for us) to ensure the gift of Scouting is available to all who
come.
>I know I'm a relative newcomer to the list and maybe I'm just naive, but

And I consider myself an old-timer on this list, and I agree with Bob from
what I see from time to time.
And I'm sure He will eventually save us all who want to be.
