Back On the Trails....

Hi Scouters!!
Any of you live anywhere near Minneapolis, MN??
How about St. Paul??
Well....that's right....Jessiann and Mike are on the road *again*.
This time, northbound for Jessi's "vacation" (she's job searching
and of course, I'm being "dragged" to come along...actually, I hate
it when she travels such a long distance by herself...)
We'll be leaving this afternoon (Monday) and returning on early
Saturday (although I'll be visiting my grandmother and her
daughter, my mom on Saturday and dropping off presents and toys for
my oldest child and my next-to-the-oldest). I'll try to hop
on-line a couple of times, but I can't promise it....
Already, this summer has provided us a lot of discussion; in about
two or less weeks, however, those that left us for the summer will
be returning. The next posting from me will be kinda like a
reminder of what we're about here (I'm overdue and I'm glad that
Jon nor Kyna reminded me that I needed to send out the quarterly
"Heya Scouter!" letter!)
Finally, did you hear that the Order of the Arrow is going to be
LESS concentrated along "indian traditions and garb" and more
concentrated on unit and Council service? Did you see the NEW OA
logo yet?? If you HAVEN'T heard either of those two, you will
soon. The National OA Conference is over, to more or less enthusiam
about the new logo and the new direction the "Brotherhood of
Cheerful Service" will be moving toward. I'm not going to echo
what has already become a good discussion over at Arrow-L, but I'm
sure that other Arrowmen that attended that conference will share
with us their impressions and opinions of this new logo (which
removes all "indian references") and new "stratgic plan" (which is
also available online from the OA's new Web site, another
indication of the direction that the Order and the BSA is moving
toward....)
I'll stop by when I can but I'm NOT turning off my mail (so that
when I get back on Sunday, I'll have LOTS and LOTS of email to
read!!)
If you're in the Twin Cities, Jessi and I would love to meet you.
Please post me PRIVATELY at kyblkeagle@aol.com or jessirose@aol.com
and let us know -- and remember: while I'm great with a roadmap and
compass, I haven't been there since 1974 and Jessi has NEVER been
there (hence why she chose to take her trip there...and something
about some "mall for america" thingy too....*grinning*)
