THat is a new one on me, however, I can see a possibility,
1 Most small children do not have the body mass to maintain internam
heat through the night.
solution: a nice warm sleeping bag, or two kids in the bag (do
not try it if they are not brothers)
2 Older tents often had no floor. This would allow water vapor to come
up through the ground and chill the sleepers.
solution: use a ground sheet under each sleeping bag. A good
floor in the tent will also work.
3 Little children toss an turn in the night winding up outside of thier
covers, not a problem in the summer.
4 wet beds no explaniation needed I hope (tre embaressing) There
ae many solutions for this one
start with a visit to the doctor, check for nightshade family
sensitivity (peppers, Tomatoes, potatoes, to name a few.) The one
explanation that I have for this is that "It was so real that I thought I
was using.."
In short for summer family camping there should be few if any reasons for
Hypothermia that preventive steps might not be taken for.
Camp away, have fun.
