Re: msg from paccerelli

Hi All,
In regard to the recent flames against Mr. Paccerelli. I would like to say
that just stop and think for a moment. This young man has spent 8yrs. in
scouts earned 39mbs and the rank of eagle. He is certainly entitled to his
opinion as far as the language used getting it across goes he could have been
a bit more polite. I applaud him for so voraciously standing up for his
beliefs although he could have shown a bit more respect. Like him I've spent
8yrs in scouts and have, at times, had the same feelings against my adult
leaders. I think instead of attacking Mr. Paccerelli we should use this as a
learning experience. There is something wrong here. Our program has produced
a young man who displays much contempt for his adult leaders. I think we all
should look to ourselves and see if our own actions could aid in producing the
emotions expressed by this young man. In closing one thing I learned from my
Scoutmaster is to trust no one, expect opposition, narrow mindedness,
irrationality, and also to not respect adults just because they were older
than me. He did all this, just by being himself. He also taught me to hate
law officers (He was one of them) So in closing let's take a look at ourselves
instead of lashing out against this young man. As I always tell my Patrol
Leaders If something goes wrong with one of their patrol members it is their
responsibility to handle the situation and correct their mistakes. (That is
unless the situation is serious)

Thank you for listening,
Ted Aamland
