Please make sure that the person instructing is (a) qualified to do so,
and (b) has been taught to use the manikin. There are steps that need to
be taken to avoid cross-infection. Some training devices have disposable
bags that need to be changed between candidates or removable face masks.
All need to be wiped with an appropriate disinfectant between candidates,
and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after use.
The Resucianne with CPR monitoring ( the one with the lights ) is an
expensive bit of kit, and it makes sense that organisations will ask the
person using it to have had some instruction in its use and maintenance.
[ regarding partials ]
Partials are accepted at the discretion of the counselor. If the MB
requires CPR the counselor may feel that recent practice is appropriate.
I believe that some organisations issue CPR certificates that are valid
for six months and then have to be renewed.
