Hi Everyone,
I'm just getting ready to go out of town for the next four days, but I
wanted to thank everyone that responded to my request for prayers.
I also have just two questions to ask of all of you who are arguing
"for" the singing issue. How does that fit into the Scout Law? When
a scout forgets a personal item someplace, how can it possibly be
viewed as loyal, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, or helpful to
make him sing to regain his property?
I always let the Oath and Law be my guide. I also do not believe in
punishment ever since someone asked me to look up both words in the
dictionary. There is quite a difference between punishment and
consequence.
I think the later one is much more kind. If we are not feeling kind
toward the scout, maybe we need to take a look at our own behaviors
that we are using to set the example for him!
See you all next week,
