Leave no trace, as policy, is hinted at in the handbook, but certainly isn't
specific, so you're fine there. However, some councils have adopted LNT as
a rule. We had LNT as part of our Fundamentals course and Woodbadge course
in the Denver Area Council. It was not presented as a good suggestion or
optional, but the way scouting is to be done in that area.
Here, in Missouri, everyone looks at me very strangely when my troop here
uses LNT practices. I guess it all depends on where you live (but a good
idea everywhere!)
