Hello Sharon,
It sounds as if you have a great unit! Remember that one alternative you have
which will almost certainly permit you use of BSA facilities is to register
your Cadette unit also as an Explorer Post, or after the upcoming changes as a
Venture Crew. The cost of registration could be part of the budgeted cost of
the trip.
I believe that the Northeast Region has information on high adventure
opportunities offered by the various councils. You can also contact the
individual councils in the area you want to visit about what they offer.
However, if you are contacting them as an Explorer Post or as a Venture Crew
from out of council, it probably will involve many fewer mental gymnastics for
them to respond than if you contact them as a Cadette unit.
I don't believe there is a problem with having an all female unit. Our
council has had them in the past.
Have a great trip. I hope you come to the Boston area.
