ceremony request

Mary Beth Murphy (MBScouter@AOL.COM)
Sun, 12 Jul 1998 07:47:44 -0400

I am proud to announce that my 12 year old Star Scout, Patrick Murphy, will be
awarded the Lifesaving Certificate of Merit on August 31. Pat performed the
Heimlich on his aunt while on Easter break. She credits him "with saving my
life". Pat earned the Heimlich as a Cub at Day Camp and again as a day
visitor to Jambo last year. I am requesting your help to find a suitable
ceremony. The presentation will be held in conjunction with the troop's Court
of Honor. The IH, COR, District Chairman, UC, DE, and SE have all been
invited. Local television and newspapers will also be invitied (what better
publicity right before Cub Scout school recruitment) ;>). The aunt has been
asked to come and present the certificate. I will be leaving August 1 for a
three week trip to Philmont (a once in a lifetime opportunity!) and would like
to have the ceremony planned before I leave. Thanks for all the help I know
I am going to receive! If anyone would like to pass on messages of
congratulations, I will see that he receives them during the reception
following the Court of Honor.
