Question about cub scout sport program requirements

I know that to earn the academic loops and pins, the cub needs to do
projects,
activities... But do all the sports loops just require learning the rules of
the sport and limited participation and the pins just require participation
of
30 hours(60 points)or do some require demonstration of certain abilities(ie.
for swimming pin, demonstrate various strokes, swim 100 feet, etc)??
