Ex-leader now Parent Troubles

Several months ago I posted to the group about our ACM who was/is a true Dr.
Jecykle/Mr. Hyde personallity. To refresh your memories he constantly
chastized his now Webelos age son in front of everyone, Cub Scouts, Leaders,
parents, and siblings and has done so for several years. By chastizing, I
mean using profanity, spanking, name calling, and so forth. For example, he
once harsely called his son stupid for stepping in dog poo and another time
spanked him for getting his finger stuck in a chair that folded up on him
and the little fellow was in pain.

To make a long story short. About a month ago he was striped of his
leadership role after an incident at one of our community Rec. Dept.Midget
Baseball game. He received a letter stating he was not allowed to go to
sporting events for the next 6 months for his ill-tempered outburst at the
Rec. Dept. Director which constisted of him spitting, cussing, and throwing
ice at the Director during a game but not on him. This is a very small
community and the smallest county in the state so word spreads like wildfire.

Now to add another chapter to the on-going saga. Our Pack recently had a
Cub Scout Night June Pack Meeting at our town's new farm league baseball
team game. This fellow was there and he was wearing his Pack t-shirt which
is our summertime uniform. (Remember he is no longer a leader) He had no
longer been inside the gate and set down when he started using "GD" this and
"GD" that at his son and roughed him up a little because the boy did not
want to go get his ball autographed. Well I heard it and just hope no body
else did but no such luck; others did too.

A father in my den became upset an moved to another seat so he and his child
were not subjected to such talk. Last night the father calls me and says he
thought that this fellow was no longer a leader and that he could not
continue to let his 10 year old son be associated with our unit as long as
this fellow was present. So the family had made a decision they were no
longer involved in Scouts. I tried to smooth it over the best I could but
the decision was made. This boy is only 5-6 months from getting his AOL and
has been involved since he was a Wolf. This disturbs me greatly as I want
this for him.

I then called our Charter Org.Post Commander and asked them about refusing
this ill-tempered man at any Scouting functions and they said for the
committee to send a letter to him and I think they are going to something
similar. This ex-leader was also our Pack treasurer and he refuses to hand
over the Pack checkbook back or the building fund one.

How and can we prevent him from attending Scouting events? If the one boy
leaves the den of six members I'm sure others will follow and my son will be
one of them as this one boy is a very good friend. This really has gotten
out of hand and is making a nervous wreak out of me. Sometimes I wonder why
I stay involved with so much chaos.

Please guide our Pack into how we now handle this fellow now.
