Re: Summertime Pack Award

Jan -

While researching an answer to a message recently forwarded to me about
Summertime Activities I read that to be eligible for the award a Pack
needs to plan/hold an activity in June, July & August. In the past our
Pack has always used Cub Scout/Webelos Day Camp as one activity and as
long as we held at least two others (we usualy hold three others) we
felt we were eligible for the award.

Here in Central Florida our kids get out of school about the 3rd week of
May and start back the 2nd week of August. Since we also hold our
Graduation Pack Meeting in May and start back up in August with a
"Welcome Back to the Pack" meeting, it was decided that if we held 3
activities sometime between "Graduation" and "Welcome Back", that would
suffice. I guess technically we could count our "Welcome Back to the
Pack" meeting as a summertime activity. Last year it was a carnival
theme with games, relays and ice cream. Unstructured, but lots of fun!
