Inappropriate Songs

Note that many "religious hymns" were originally secular tunes to which
someone came along and composed brand, spankin', new religious lyrics. So,
does said tune irrevocably become a "religious" tune because of this?

Also, I've wondered from time to time whether the Brits consider "My
Country 'Tis of Thee" to be a (bad) parody? After all, the tune is "God
Save the King", originally a British patriotic song, complete with British
patriotic lyrics.

This can get sort-of ridiculous pretty fast.

One, final, retorical question: Who is it that is being "offended" anyway?
I doubt that many (any?) of the boys are offended by these song parodies,
so it must be the adults who are expressing offense. But, don't we do all
this for the boys? C'mon! Ya' gotta let your hair down once in a while
and show the boys that one doesn't lose one's sense of "fun" when you
become an adult.
