Hey, Cheryl you know how us guys are, can't cry in public ya know and can't
sing songs that might get us crying in public. Although I must confess I've
shed a tear or two at Memorial Day services and Funerals.

Once again I can only be responsible for my conduct, not theirs. I know
what you mean though I've witnessed the same thing, but with regard to this
forum I think we have to make good choices for the boys where we can.
Sometimes that means not doing or saying something in front of the
boys...that "leadership by example" thing. I really get irriated by foul
language in front of the boys....yes I know they probably know more of
these words then I do but that doesn't mean they have to hear them from the
adults. When it comes to values it's a tough issue but most of the people
I meet in scouting want to see the boys do well in life and grow up to be
decent people. I hope the example I set (live) in front of them helps
accomplish that, and think most of the others on this list share that same
goal. It would be nice sometime down the road to have one of these boys we
work with today, come to us in the future and say, " Hey, I appreciated
what you did for me when I was a kid in scouts" (Starting to tear, see what
you did Cheryl<ornery grin>)

>I doubt most parodists intend to _offend_ -- amuse, startle, or tweak,

I think many parodists point out our shortcomings in life which is probably
why we get offended.......we see to much of ourselves.

Well, take care, keep up the good fight, and keep "Setting the Example",
