Cub Scout matters

--New Webelos book due around February '99

Boy Scout matters
--New Boy Scout handbook-due Feb. '99. We saw some (proofs, mockups,

I can hardly wait. I think the boys will find it much easier to use.

--New 3-volume (3x12 months) Woods Wisdom with new material
--New troop committee guidebook-August?
--new troop committee training
--Fieldbook to be revised
--a rumor of new shorts, longer and looser
--changes to Eagle, effective Feb 99 with 90-day transition
-Personal Fitness becomes a silver ring (required); Safety will no longer
be required
-more cooking for Second Class
-Second and First Class swimming to be like beginner/swimmer requirements
-one silver ring choice will be Swimming or Cycling or Hiking

The Venturing Oath
