If this had happened to me, My first response would be that my daughter (or
son for that matter) will not participate in any group where parents are
unwelcome to attend and observe, for her own protection .

Then I would have done like Greg and gone to the district office. Failing
satisfaction at that level, I would have continued to climb up the ladder,
one rung at a time, until I reached a level where reason and common sense
would take over, and the proper people would see to it that the local
leaders either acted properly, or were removed.

In any of my dealings, both business and personal, I never stop with the
first no, or unsatisfactory response that I receive. I always keep going
up the chain of command until I either get to the very top, or get
satisfaction. Normally I get satisfaction after going up no more than one
or two levels, I rarely have to go to the top, and even less often fail to
get satisfaction.

There is absolutely NO valid reason for leaders of any worthwhile youth
group to refuse to allow parents the opportunity to attend and observe
meetings. If they do, I would be concerned about "What are they hiding???".

This seems like just another case of Male Bashing..ie: "all men are pigs,
and cannot be trusted".

Just my .02 worth.
