Lifesaving BSA Requirement / PS to Drinking & Smoking

Dear List:

I have two Scouts that have signed up for the BSA Lifeguard Certificate
at Summer Camp this year. I know that they need basic CPR training as
one of the requirements. But the camp does not offer the required CPR
training during Summer Camp. I am also told that they need to present a
'certificate' to prove that the training has been successfully
completed.

I am trying to find someplace that offers CPR but I do not know the
correct questions to ask. There is apparently more than one type (or
level) of Red Cross CPR training. So my question is: "Exactly what type
of CPR training is required and what am I supposed to be asking for?
Does it have a specific name?

Your speedy assistance will help us because I only have 4 weeks till
camp!!!!

P.S. Some of you may remember my post of a month ago about drinking and
smoking in front of Scouts. All that worked out very well. I printed
out over 40 emails from this group and mailed them to my buddy. They
were so consistant in their content that they really helped resolve ANY
question that the actions of the adults were WAY off base.

Several parents were very upset and many conversations with the
Scoutmaster were held. The Scoutmaster called a special meeting and
established a new set of much firmer rules for the Troop and for the
adults. The drinking is completely forbidden. Giving cigars to the
Scouts is forbidden. And smoking in front of the boys is discouraged.
