BSA promotes reverance and a belief in G-d. It has generally avoided
supporting specific sets of belief though some of its strongest support comes
from religious institutions. Because so many of such institutions are
involved, and find Scouting an appropriate vehicle to convey values, BSA has
not promoted one religion over another. BSA is not a Christian organization,
though most of its participants probably profess some form of Christianity.
Were you to awake tomorrow, go to your local Scout Shop, and find that a few
individuals have chosen to place a religious symbol that doesn't represent your
belief system on your CSP -- would you not feel marginalized. What if it were
a Crescent, or the Star of David? What if that cross were burning?
Let's not fool ourselves, that cross on the Central N.C. Council CSP was not a
random intersection of vertical and horizontal lines.

I'll look up RELATIONSHIPS, though I accept the reference as correct. If so,
then that CSP is not, or was not, im conformity. It matters little that BSA's
Supply Division may have chosen to distribute an overrun of a CSP which it
shouldn't have produced in the first place.
