I agree completely. I'm not saying Scouting is for any woman, but if
they feel they can control a group of about 15-20 teenagers at once, I
welcome them. We can always use people like that.
My first Scoutmaster was a woman. She was also my Cubmaster, and she
moved up to Boy Scouts with my den/patrol. The troop folded a few
years later, b/c we had about 3 boys and 3 adults. She stayed with
the troop we transferred to, until her son dropped out, and then she
stopped coming.
I kept on going, and as soon as my Eagle BOR was complete, I went and
called her and asked her to do my Eagle Charge at my COH. She agreed
without hesitation. I know some people disagree with having ladies as
Scoutmasters or Assistants, but I say if one lady can make such an
impression, imagine what many women can do.
