Female on campouts

Shull, Don (dshull@CINERGY.COM)
Tue, 19 May 1998 15:12:35 -0400

I was sent this and told him I would pass it on to the group. You can
either respond directly to him, or respond to the list (leaving the subject
the same so
I can find it) and I will pass it on to him.

Thanks,
Don Shull

Anyway, as a boy run troop, the adults do not really do anything on campouts
as far
as running the camp so we wonder about her purpose to be on the camp. it
would end up being just a waste of her time and at the same time infringe on
the enjoyment of the scouts on their event. it's sounds like she is on an
ego trip. if you send my concerns along to your group i think any addional
imput would certainly help. our main concern is not to change the enjoyment
of the scouts at their event. this lady is already troop committee
secretary, helps out at all our fundraisers, and just feels the she can
contribute more to the troop, so her intentions are honorable if not just
misplaced but she is also a very strongwilled woman wanting to push her
views on everyone else. her husband is also an sa, a very good one, now he
seems to be insulted also, we are trying to resolve this issue but at the
same time we will not compromise the boys position just to appease her. any
feedback you could arrange would be helpful. thanks. george.
