What a great opportunity you have with a theme like "Hey Look Us Over" to
really teach unit leaders to promote all of the fun stuff in Scouting and
attract more boys to Cub Scouting. All too often we have really great
units the nobody knows much about with fun programs -- if only more
people knew.
How about some workshops on how to get publicity for the Pack, how to
promote the Pack in the community, how to attract new members, do a
really bang-up job on the next Join Scouting Night (2000), picking
activities that are fun and draw people, etc.
This theme is a great opportunity to emphasize getting a Pack recognized
in the community and neighborhood and to help smaller Packs learn how to
grow and build. It is also a good opportunity to help folks learn how to
get their good efforts out in the public eye.
