I recently had an on-base experience like Dave Loomis.
Our Roundtable is held on an Air Force National Guard base. I arrived early
and was the only one in the room. I was standing just inside the door as an
Airman walked by. He did a double-take, stopped and turned around to see what
kind of uniform I was wearing. He appeared relieved and a big grin came over
his face. I commented that unlike me, his uniform came with a commitment. He
quickly replied that mine did too.......perhaps even a bigger one.
