O.A. Elections

T. Nixon (tjworld@WORLDNET.ATT.NET)

Our troop will be having O.A. elections in a few weeks and need some
guidance from those familiar with O.A. Elections. Our troop uses
Troopmaster software which will print out eligible O.A. members (those
who have meet rank and camping req.). In doing so, we found out that it
will only count one long term camp for the eligibility requirement , all
the rest of the days must be short term. I have three questions:

1. Can two summer camps not be applied to the total? For example, a
scout who went on two 6 day summer camps and 3 two day camps - would he
be eligible?

2. What about a long term camp that is more than 6 days? Who many days
do you count towards the total of 15 nights? For example, our troop
went on an 8 day summer camp adventure last summer, do you count only
six of these days with the other nine must be short term? or do you
count all 8 with the remainder being short term?

3. And finally, if a Scout attends one summer camp of 6 days the first
year, and 8 days the second year, and has 7 days of short-term camping,
does it matter which long term camp you apply (assuming you can count
the 8 day camp for all 8 days)?

In our case, Troopmaster applied only the first camp of 6 days and
disregards the camp of 8 days. These 2 days did make a difference
regarding eligibility for some of the scouts.

Thanks in advance for your help. Please e-mail me privately or to the
group.

Thanks,
Tim N.
