Re: Embarressed by uniform.....NOT I

I can appreciate very much your frustration. It frustrates me very much to get
my scouts turn around on the uniform issue and to feel confortable to wear
them around town.
They all know that I wear scout stuff lots of places. Even for adults in
certain situations it might be a source of ridicule. It amazes me that an
organization that supports goodness and character, etc is ridiculed yet
obscene t-shirts, satinism, drugs, alcohol is looked upon as being the ideal
among youth and many adults (or why do they not allow their kids to wear such
things)

In any case people at work are not surprised to see me in a camp jacket, camp
hat, scout t-shirts (weekends only).

One somewhat humor thing happened to me with my uniform. One of our spaghetti
supper fundraisers I was wearing my summer uniform complete with campaign hat
when in walked a work friend complete with CAMERA. He is known as somewhat of
a prankster. He took his picture of me to work and when I was distracted he
and others scanned the picture and loaded in onto my computor as screen saver.
They then logged me off. Soon thereafter when I went to log back on with my
password low and behold here came this computor screen filled with me in my
uniform!! The place roared in laughter with my reaction. ..............Three
years later it still my screan saver and I get wonderful comments and
reactions!!! So hang in there and keep preaching right!
