PROPER FOOD HANDLING QUESTIONS

Does anyone know of a good resource for proper food handling rules?
I just saw a TV news spot about food spoilage and bacteria growth due to poor
refrigeration, cooking and handling techniques in the home. If the home is tough
to keep free of pathogens, imagine what must be going on in our coolers and
water containers. While we carefully wash and sanitizer our mess kits, bacteria
grows on our food in less than properly chilled coolers.
There must be some government site or health care site which addresses this,
U.S.D.A., F.D.A., etc. Also, is there a committee at National addressing this
issue. I've never seen anything about it in Scoutmaster Training or BSA
literature, but then, I haven't read everything printed by BSA.
Thanks.
