I do not have a written policy, but my recollection of the discussion the last
time a similar thread was played out, the strong recommendation was that
"last names" not be published. Youth protection is the issue and what you
want to avoid is predators gaining access to your boys.
News stories have made it clear that young people can be lured into
relationships and even may run away (take unauthorized trips) to be with an
older person whom they met on the web. This is another issue, but it is a
hazard which should be raised with parents and children in YPP presentations.
There was a short article in "Boys Life" about safety on the web in the last
two years.
Pictures might be better if they depict groups of boys in Scouting activities
rather than individual pictures linked to names (and certainly not addresses
of any kind).
