Linda, I agree if you are a quality unit then you should be able to get the
patch for free. Also I don't understand why they charge for advancement cards
as you'd think they would come with the cloth patch. Our unit just recharterd
at 57 scouts and about 10 to 12 adults so everytime we do something like buy
patches its expensive. As far as so much $ going to council I assume you are
talking about council fundraisers like bowlathon or popcorn. Why don't you
have you're own fundraisers? We have done VERY well with Spaghetti and
Meatball Supper (hint: get someone in restaurant business to assist in helping
out!), Ham and Bean Supper, and Yankee Candle.
