Re: New Scout Handbooks

Richard Axtman asked the question concerning the release of the new hand
books. Having headed up one of the project teams which was involved with
the revision of the hand books, all I can say is that the time frame that I
have for release of the revised Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Boy Scout hand
books is set for January 1999. With the release there will be a time
period in which you may be using two different books. A Cub Scout or
Webelos Scout will use the hand book that they are currently using. The
project team which I was involved with worked on the Webelos Handbook. If
national follows the recomendations of the team, there are some requirement
changes for the Webelos. Most of the changes may not be obvious, while
others will stick out like a sore thumb. If you have any questions please
