The James Sheckels and Allen Maddox highlights one of the severe
shortcomings of "Scoutmaster Fundamentals" as published. Two deep is
given ONE line in the guide and Youth Protection is assumed to have
already been given. If, as is claimed in the introduction, this is a
course for all scouters in all capacities, Such assumptions and neglects
show a severe myopia. Myown Council training team has placed an extended
section on Two Deep and has the Youth Protection Instructor give an
abbreviated session(30 minutes) during the course which we have renamed
Troop Leader Training or (to borrow from Woodbadge) Troop One.
A clossing comment. Always follow Yout Protection in all scuting
encounters with boys, EVERYWHERE, no matter what the function. In other
words, Protect Thyself!
