You are right, the Scout Law does not mention God anywhere. Please don't
forget the Scout Oath however, where you are pledging to "do your duty to
GOD and your Country". Should people be allowed which Scouting principles
to follow, or is it a package deal?

The Boy Scout Handbook in explaining the twelfth point of the Law says on p
561 that ". . . reverence refers to a profound respect for God. . . . " I
won't bother to quote the rest of the paragraph. You can check it out for
yourself, but God is clearly intended when the Law says, " A Scout is
reverent."
