Funding Roundtables

Can I ask how other Districts fund roundtables? Especially in the Cub
program, craft supplies and such could easily cost several hundred
dollars a year. Even on the Boy Scout side, it hardly seems fair to
ask sombody to present a program on backpack cooking, let's say, AND
to pay for the supplies.
We have some folks who think that a set charge for attendees might
keep some people away who need it. Some who think that we should just
put out a coffee can and ask for donations. And some who point out
that there is no provision (at least in our Council) for a District to
have its own funds, seperate from the Council's.
So, how do you fund this important function?
Thanks in advance, and I hope this gets some of your minds off of the
3G discussion.
