Fellow scouter,
I have received something special for Christmas I never thought I would
ever receive. I have been invited to Cub Scout Woodbadge. I am both very
surprised and very happy for the invitation. BUT I am having a lot of
misgivings. I am a unit commissioner, I have been going on 4 years. I was
involved with the Cub Scouting program in the 1980's with my sons. I got
back into scouting because it was ether join my husband, who never quit
after the boys eagled or ask him to quit scouting. I knew I couldn't do
that. I understand very little about the Cub Scout
Woodbadge other than it is a very concentrated train the trainer course, if
I am wrong please tell me. My problem is this I want to know if there is
anything I can do to prepare for this. Is there anything I can study or
should study? I am not part of a set training staff. Yes, I have gone to
train the trainer and last year my husband I were on staff. My husband and
I together taught a class. But HE won't be there to help me through this I
will be on my own. I just don't want to be a hardship for the rest of the
class. If you can help me, I would be most appreciative.
Plus does anyone know where Camp Karankawa is? The paper work I received
says it is in Sweeny, Texas but the internet says it is out side of Bay
City, TEXAS
Yours in Keeping the Promise,
Connie Pettit - Unit Commissioner
Longhorn Council - Fort Worth, Texas
