Don,
Your best bet is the Explorer Advanced Leadership Development Training
Workshop, which is designed to train Explorers and Advisors concurrently
in a variety of leadership skills, communications techniques, team
building exercises, etc. There is a video tape and syllabus available
from your Council office or through supply service if they don't have it.
Most Councils have an Explorer training team who can provide this course
for you. If not, you can do it from the syllabus and video.
We usually run our sessions about five or six hours and provide
refreshments/lunch depending on the time of day. We finish it with a post
program planning workshop which allows the Explorers to run through an
exercise in building a six month or one year activity calendar. This gets
posts off to a very good start and helps them keep a regimen of worthwhile
activities which is especially important for new posts.
Best wishes,
