Where to next year

Where are you headed next year? On your way to Philmont or
some other camp and do you need a place to throw your bed
roll for the night? Maybe I have the right spot for you.
My Troop here in Amarillo, TX has a real nice building that we
rent out for the un-believable low, low cost of just $2:00 per
person per night. We can sleep about 100, a little tight, for a
night of bliss on your way to or from or both. A nice flat floor
awaits your reservation with showers and a fully equipped
kitchen for the frugal among you. Set up a cot or just sack out
on the floor.
The building is right off I-40 in the middle of one of the best
places in Texas, which is pretty good to start with. We are
about half way between Oklahoma City and Albuquerque and
only a few hours from fabulous Philmont; Scoutings premier
ranch in Cimmirron, NM.
The "Palo Duro Canyon" is just a few miles south and is well
worth the side trip. The play "TEXAS" is performed during the
summer months and we will send you their info sheet so that
you can check it out. All the fast food stops are here and we
are also the home of the BIG TEXAN restraunt where they offer
a 72oz. steak with all the trimmings for free if eaten in one little
hour. Just the place after all the trail food.
To find out more about our little part of pardise, you can
contact the reservations desk (OK, it's me) and have a packet
mailed to you via the US Postal Service. Pass the word to those
not on the list who may need a place to stay. Tell them to hurry
as we fill up fast. More than 1500 scouters stayed with us here
last year.
